One day in August 2017 as I was walking down to the end of my hallway, I heard a loud, labored sound of air trying to make its way through an air filter that had done way more than its fair share of grabbing the nasty bits of allergy inducing dust out of the air of our house. As I thought about how long that filter had possible been in place, I realized that it had been diligently doing its duty for more than 5 years. A tad too long. With several people in the house that have dust induced asthma, it seemed like a good idea to have a filter that would actually get the nasties out of the air. I had recently seen FilterEasy on my Instagram feed, and thought I’d give them a try. Having someone automatically send my an air filter would eliminate my excuses of forgetfulness and laziness. I signed up, and a couple weeks later I got my first replacement filter on my doorstep. Installed it that night, and noticed a difference immediately.
It Makes a Difference
NO, REALLY- I did notice a difference right away. WAY more airflow through the system, no smell of burning dust when the heater fired up, my allergy ridden family members were having noticeably fewer asthma issues. Originally I signed up to get a new filter every 2 months, but after the second filter came, and I removed the previous filter, I realized that our circumstance dictated that I get a new filter every month. The amount of dust that was caught up in the filter was shocking. When the third filter came, I decided to upgrade to the ‘Super Allergen’ filter, just to see if it make any further difference for my, now not so, sickly asthma victims. I am about 90% sure that even that has helped with their issues. Either way, I am spending much less on the emergency inhalers that a few of my family members seemed to constantly have in their faces.
